HP Tronic has significantly expanded its storage and operational capacity by deploying cutting-edge solutions from stow. To address growing demand and improve efficiency, HP Tronic partnered with stow to implement advanced systems, including narrow aisle racking, mezzanine expansions, and a four-story pallet picking gallery. These upgrades align with HP Tronic’s goals of enhancing storage performance for medium-sized goods and optimizing the utilization of existing warehouse space. The company has a leading position in the consumer electronics and household appliances market in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
The Challenge
The DATART Jirny logistics center required an upgrade to accommodate the increasing demand for diverse product storage while ensuring operational efficiency. HP Tronic aimed to double the storage capacity for medium-sized goods by utilizing the warehouse’s full height and integrating advanced technology. Additionally, some products were relocated to the facility in Horní Počernice for large goods, creating an opportunity to maximize the existing infrastructure at Jirny.
The Solution
To address HP Tronic’s requirements, stow designed and implemented a comprehensive solution that included:
- New Narrow Aisle System Warehouse: stow constructed a second system warehouse with narrow aisles to optimize space efficiency and improve storage density.
- Mezzanine Expansion: The existing mezzanine was extended with an additional floor, doubling its capacity and enabling enhanced product assortment capabilities.
- Four-Story Pallet Picking Gallery: A new, state-of-the-art pallet picking gallery was built to increase picking capacity by 40%.
- Conveyor Integration: Following completion, conveyor systems will be installed in the galleries to streamline operations and improve picking processes.
All the adjustments have been designed not only to expand the capacity for medium-sized goods but also to enable a broader assortment of stored products,” says Michal Prádl, Head of the logistics center. “The pallet and shelf racking capacity is now up to 90,000 types of goods, and we are doubling this volume thanks to stow’s innovative solutions.
Results
Substantial Capacity Gains
Upon completion of the upgrades, HP Tronic successfully doubled the storage capacity for beltable, medium-sized goods in the Jirny facility. The new additions ensure optimal utilization of the warehouse’s height while meeting the growing demand for storage.
Enhanced Picking Efficiency
The introduction of the four-story pallet picking gallery has improved picking efficiency by 40 percent, facilitating faster and more accurate order fulfillment.
Optimized Infrastructure
stow’s solutions enabled HP Tronic to seamlessly integrate modern advancements, such as air conditioning, sprinklers, EPS, cameras, and an extensive conveyor system, into the warehouse infrastructure.
