For the new distribution center of Pharmaxim, a large Scandinavian pharmaceutical and cosmetics company, stow supplied and installed a Pal Rack® pallet racking system with 2,500 locations, 300 of which are in a hazardous goods area.
Pharmaxim was founded in Helsingborg in 2003 and has grown from a small pharmaceutical company to a company that today has a turnover of almost 200 million kronor. A major shift took place in 2009 when a new leg of the business was created with a focus on the consumer side and in health, hygiene and beauty. Since 2023, the company has been based in Landskrona. From here, several deliveries are sent to over 500 customers in the Nordic region every day.
2,500 pallet locations in Pharmaxim’s new distribution center
Pharmaxim’s new central warehouse has a floor area of around 3,200 m2. Part of this is separated because aerosols and highly flammable goods are stored there, for example products containing gas or highly flammable liquids.
A total of 2,500 pallet locations has been created, 300 of which are in the hazardous goods zone. The standard height is 10.5 metres.
‘stow helped us to plan the placement of the pallet racks in the warehouse in order to optimise our daily work and to be as effective as possible during the installation on site,’ emphasises Andreas Rosén, CFO at Pharmaxim. ‘During the construction of the pallet racks, it was discovered that the position of some of the doors did not match the drawings. stow had a project manager on site immediately who took new measurements and adapted the design on site.’
The order was placed in September 2022 and the installation took place in spring 2023, in time for Pharmaxim’s move to the new headquarters. ‘In working with us, stow gave a professional impression from the start and they helped us make sure we meet all the requirement,’ concludes Andreas Rosén. ‘They were flexible and helpful throughout the entire process.’
