After years in the planning, the new ‘state of the art’ headquarters for truck market leader Isuzu Australia was officially opened on 30th May 2018.
Located in the epicentre of Melbourne’s western transport corridor in Truganina, the new 21,000 square metre facility has brought together Isuzu’s national head office, administration and sales departments, a showroom, engineering and parts warehouse facilities, as well as its off-highway engines team and a purpose-built training center all under one roof.
stow Australia was successful in winning the competitive tender to design, manufacture and install the multi-functional racking and storage facility at Isuzu’s new Parts Warehouse, following the completion of a successful Brisbane-based warehouse racking project for Isuzu in 2013/14. The storage solution includes more than 5000 pallet spaces for high bay, oversize and cab racking and more than 20,000 bin locations over two tiers. Following this project, we were also successful in designing and installing Stage 2 of their racking system.
According to John Plunkett, Isuzu’s National Parts Manager and the person responsible for the design and completion of the warehouse, “we needed a warehouse racking and storage company who we trusted for designing a solution for a diverse range of items from small bolts to over-sized exhaust pipes to truck cabs. Currently, we supply parts for more than 1000 different variants of Isuzu Trucks on the road and we needed a solution capable of efficiently storing these and potentially more in the future.”
“Furthermore, we have dealt with Nick Greenham, stow’s Sales Engineer, for a number of years and we knew we could rely on him.”
According to Isuzu Australia Limited’s chief operating officer Phil Taylor, the new facilities will equip the market leader for years to come. “The state of the art facilities will perfectly reflect our operations in the future – as Isuzu aims to continue improving on 29 consecutive years of market leadership.”
stow Australia is quickly building a strong reputation for trust and flexibility in the Automotive sector with clients such as Isuzu, Kumho, Mazda, Nissan and Mitsubishi.
