stow Racking - Multi-tier racking

stow multi-tier shelving:
Save space, multiply storage area

When selecting multi-tier shelving for your warehouse, consider factors like ceiling height, product weight, system safety, stability, accessibility, and efficiency. Material durability and scalability are also crucial. By carefully assessing these aspects, you can choose a system that optimizes space, enhances safety, and improves inventory management.

stow’s multi-tier shelving allows you to expand your storage capacity without automation. stow also offers an intelligent industrial flooring system for multi-tier shelving applications, using either intermediate walkways, floor-over systems, or a combination of both.

Maximise vertical space with stow multi-tier shelving

Multi-tier shelving offers significant advantages for warehouses seeking to maximise storage capacity and improve space utilisation

Increased Storage Capacity

By utilising the full height of the warehouse, multi-tier shelving significantly increases storage capacity compared to traditional single-level systems. This is especially beneficial for warehouses with limited floor space. Multi-tier systems can double or even triple the storage capacity compared to traditional shelving, allowing you to store more inventory without expanding your warehouse footprint.

Improved Space Utilisation

By utilising vertical space, multi-tier shelving frees up valuable floor space for other purposes, such as production lines, packing areas, or employee walkways. Multi-tier systems can be customised to accommodate different product types and sizes, leading to more efficient and organised storage.

Enhanced Picking Efficiency

stow multi-tier systems provide direct access to all stored items, reducing the time and effort required for picking and retrieval. With shorter distances between storage levels, picking routes can be optimised, further improving picking efficiency.

Flexibility and Adaptability

stow multi-tier systems are modular, allowing for customisation and expansion as your storage needs evolve. The systems can be configured to accommodate various product sizes and weights, making them suitable for a wide range of inventory.

Safety

stow multi-tier systems incorporate safety features like guardrails and designated walkways to ensure safe operation for workers. In some cases, multi-tier systems can minimise the need for forklifts, reducing the risk of accidents and damage to goods.

Details of stow multi-tier shelving

  • For normal walkways a uniformly distributed load of 350 kg/m² is generally used.
  • For hand-operated trucks or for storage of goods other load capacities may be specified (up to 750 kg/m²).
  • Each floor level can be accessed with stairs, which are adapted to the local requirements.
  • Rigid construction ensures safety and good user experience.
  • Flooring system is complemented by railing, which consists of handrail, knee-rail and plinth.
  • Railing is designed in accordance with ISO 14122-3:2016
  • In general a wooden decking or a grating floor is applied in multi-tier racking systems.
  • The wooden decking is a high-density chipboard, with an optional white finish at the underside and optionally an anti-slip coating at the upper side.
  • Depending on local requirements different fire protection classes are available.
  • stow’s flooring system can be adapted to the use of automated guided vehicles.
  • In this case special decking with increased wear-resistance is offered (optionally ESD).
  • Narrower assembly tolerances ensure smooth operation.
