Miniload multi-store: Different sizes in an automated system

The goods are handled by cranes, the storage and retrieval machine (SRM). The cranes, guided on the ground and with a rail at the top of the rack, retrieve the goods from their location and deliver them onto a conveyor and vice versa. This is all done by software, making it an automated system.

Customisable to optimise storage density

To make the storing and retrieving possible, the SRM is equipped with a load handling device (LHD), mostly with side grips, but there is a wide range of different extracting mechanism, moving the goods on and off the crane.

Depending on requirements and needs, the rack can be customised to optimise the used SRM/LHD, the goods and the throughput, thus optimising the storage density. With this system it is possible to store single, double or multi-deep. A variety of add-ons can be included such as run-outs, supports for sprinklers, smoke barriers, maintenance mezzanines, fencing, etc.

  • The construction is based on the stow pallet racking system.
  • Different sizes of totes may be combined.
  • The final dimensioning must take into consideration the specific requirements of the AS/RS crane.
  • In particular, the minimums for the dimensions are depending on the handling device.
  • Goods are stored from one side only.
  • Consists of a front beam and back beam with integrated stop.
  • Goods are stored from both sides.
  • Consists of 2 front beams with a middle stop.
