Quality cosmetics and skin care products rank among the top Australian-made exports along with diary, food products and supplements. Local brand Ego Pharmaceuticals has experienced significant growth in sales due to an increased appetite for their trusted, scientifically tested skin care products. Early this year, Ego proudly opened a new headquarters in Dandenong South and stow Australia was appointed to fit out the warehouse for 9000+ pallet positions.

Pharmaceutical warehouse pallet racking

Michael Langford, Ego Pharmaceuticals’ Logistics Manager was satisfied with making the choice of stow pallet racking“No expense has been spared in the design and build of our new facility. From the award winning staircase made from a unique stone material in our office to the racking in the DC everything has been done to reflect the high quality of our products.”

Ego Pharmaceuticals was born in a Melbourne suburban laundry in 1953, when a young chemist, Gerald Oppenheim, developed a ground-breaking skin care product. 64 years on, the legacy continues with the family business developing over 120 quality skin care products; many of which have become iconic Australian brands including QV, SunSense, Elucent, Aqium and MOOV.

Overseas consumer trends suggest that Australian products are well trusted due to our diligent manufacturing standards. Ego’s reputation has been built on consistently delivering effective, high-quality products, manufactured to Australian and international pharmaceutical standards. This preference has led to considerable company growth for Ego, especially in South East Asia and the Middle East. The burgeoning middle class is buying more and they want to buy Australian! In fact, every day nearly 7 million people around the world trust Ego products.

To meet this demand, Ego began a design in 2012 for a state-of-the-art office facility and warehouse. When bringing the design to tender, stow stood apart with a quality product offered at a competitive price and capable of delivery within the set time frame. Not to mention our after-care service agreement, which offers a 20-year warranty and regular racking services well into the future.

Rod Elliott, stow’s National Construction Manager, led the team of installers while the building was a full construction site and ensured the job was completed without a hitch. “Rod did a fantastic job managing the project smoothly from start to finish. Rod and the stow installation team worked really well with the builders on site and definitely met our expectations from a time perspective.”

Increased growth has resulted in Ego despatching double the number of units compared to last year. Michael Langford said, “With our new stow racking, carton live storage, improved procedures and smarter order handling, we will be prepared for the increases in trade.”

Storage services

Currently at 35% capacity, the warehouse is designed for growth. Ego plans to continue to service markets domestically and internationally in years to come. On the massive Dandenong site, only 25% of available land space is being used. In the long-term there are plans for manufacturing labs, raw materials and packaging warehouses all centralized at the one facility.

“The racking does exactly what it was designed to do… so the experience with stow for us was beyond the product offering. I’m very happy to recommend stow not only for the product but also their excellent level of service.”

We are proud to supply a 10 OUT OF 10 storage solution for Ego Pharmaceuticals!
