Over the last 12 months, stow Australia has worked with CEVA Logistics to design and install multiple major racking and warehouse solutions for companies in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane including Toyota, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Renault and IKEA. “We now know the key people at stow and while they continue to provide great service, we are happy to keep working with and recommending them”, according to Tom Williams, CEVA’s Operations Manager at the new IKEA facility in Truganina.
“This DC has been designed to maximise space utilization and product density. We have enabled IKEA to be able to offer next day delivery for online orders placed before midday and for orders placed in store where delivery is required the next day. This is the shortest lead-time offered by this retailer in the world. We have more than 4600 articles of furniture in stock and are forecasting hundreds of orders per day, 363 days/year.”
Nick Greenham, stow’s senior Sales Engineer, said “we needed to design a totally customized racking solution to fit with CEVA’s purpose-built pallets and overhang requirements, including a mix of Euro pallets and 2.4 metre extra-long pallets. The facility includes more than 9,000 pallet positions with growth possible up to approximately 20,000 pallets in the future.”
Tom said, “it is fair to say that our client’s requirements changed several times during the design phase and Nick and the stow team were extremely responsive, turning around revised plans overnight. Even during the installation phase, their operations staff were flexible as our solution was refined. We have and will continue to work with and recommend stow for the design, installation and maintenance of our racking systems.”
