Production plants

Our actual production facilities in Dottignies (Belgium) and Shanghai (China), are globally recognized as models of automated high-volume production.

Production unit - Wevelgem (Belgium)

In 1977, Stow started its production activities in Wevelgem (Belgium).

The international sales expansion and the growing demand resulted in the need for more production capacity.  As the premises in Wevelgem didn’t allow any further extension, the search for another plant was evident.

Production unit - Dottignies (Belgium)

In 1998, our production plant in Dottignies became operational.

The existing premises, a former textile company, were ideal.  The surface and the design of the building, both for production and offices, were perfect for an immediate and smooth start-up of our activities.  Also for the future these premises opened up opportunities.

1st extension - Dottignies (Belgium)

In 2001 again, expansion was necessary. and additional production lines were started up.

2nd extension - Dottignies (Belgium)

Since early 2006, Stow’s production platform has been enhanced by the 18,000m² extension of the plant in Dottignies (total surface production: 34,000 m² - total surface land: 4,5 ha).

The central positioning of Belgium is a main advantage towards our key market Europe.

Moreover, advanced automation in the extended area of storage and retrieval, using driverless transport systems, makes it feasible to run the factory using a three-shift system and during weekends.

Production unit - Shanghai (PRC)

Shanghai Stow was inaugurated in 1996 as the Asian subsidiary company of Stow.  At that time it was the first fully owned foreign venture in China.

1st and 2nd extension - Shanghai (PRC)

After a 1st extension of the factory in Shanghai in 1997, a new factory has been built in the Qingpu Industrial Zone and is operational since April 2008.

The Asia-Pacific and US-dollar-based markets are supplied from our Shanghai factory.
